‘Venom 3’ Gets Title, Moves Release Date to October

In the third episode of the Sony series, Kelly Marcel returns to direct Tom Hardy as the well-known Marvel character.

Sony and Columbia Pictures have revealed the name of the third part in their successful Marvel villain series as “Venom: The Last Dance.” This movie’s release date has now been moved by two weeks, now set for Oct. 25.

Tom Hardy is set to reprise his roles as Eddie Brock and Venom, with Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor taking up yet-to-be-revealed characters. For the movie, Kelly Marcel is on board once again as the scriptwriter and is slated to step into the director’s chair for the first time. The production team includes Hardy himself, and Marcel, along with Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, and Hutch Parker as the film’s producers.

Hardy is reprising his role as the villain from Marvel’s 2018 Venom, originally directed by Ruben Fleischer. The sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, released in 2021, saw Andy Serkis take up the directorial reins. After having written for both previous movies, Marcel steps into the role of director for the first time with her feature debut.

“Venom: The Last Dance” is set to be supported in Imax and other premium formats, lining up in the Halloween week’s release schedule. This lineup features a remake of “The Wolf Man” by Universal/Blumhouse, starring Christopher Abbott, alongside the third chapter in the bloody independent slasher saga “Terrifier.”

In November, Hardy revealed on Instagram that production for the film, seen as the series’ concluding installment, had kicked off again following a hiatus caused by the actors’ strike the previous year. Initially targeting a June 2024 premiere, the release date has since been adjusted to November due to the disruptions from the strike.

In his November message, Hardy mentioned calling the movie the “final performance” and stated that the endeavor “doesn’t seem as challenging when your passion is what you’re pursuing and you know you’ve got excellent materials with a superb team’s backing on every side.”

“Venom: The Last Dance” becomes the newest installment within the Sony Pictures universe of Marvel characters. This release comes after Sony’s launch of “Madame Web,” featuring Dakota Johnson alongside Sydney Sweeney, which has not performed well since its debut in cinemas last month.

The forthcoming release marks the trilogy’s third installment, launching in October for the Venom series, taking advantage of the pre-Halloween period to great effect. The inaugural film has amassed over $850 million on a global scale, whereas its successor has achieved over $500 million worldwide.
