Loki season 2 release date and cast: Disney+ drops ‘Loki’ Season 2 teaser trailer

WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki were the first three projects revealed by Marvel Studios in their partnership with Disney+ to make television programs, and they were all conceived as limited series. The plan made perfect sense since each show included high-profile actors from the MCU who need adaptable schedules.

Both of the other programs followed this formula, with their tales continuing (or being completed) in Marvel films, but Loki stunned fans by announcing, in what turned out to be the last moments of season 1, that it will return. The plot has to go on after what happened to Loki Laufeyson (Tom Hiddleston).

Naturally, after that, there was some lull. Loki continued his work behind the scenes while other Marvel movies and series stole the spotlight from it. Midway through May, we heard that the show will be returning in October, so we started digging into our Time Variance Authority records to find out as much as we could about Season 2 of Loki and how it fits into the greater MCU canon.

Come with us as we evaluate Loki’s present situation, the chance that his antagonist is someone new despite being familiar, and the significance of this fresh beginning for everyone’s favorite mischief-maker.

Loki season 2 release date

Since the premiere date of Season 2 of Loki has been revealed, fans have been waiting with bated breath. The forthcoming season looks to further explore the universe, with Loki facing up against new obstacles and an unexpected adversary.

On October 6, Disney+ will premiere the highly anticipated second season of Marvel’s Loki. Loki confronts Kang the Conqueror and has difficulties related to time travel. Marvel enthusiasts, don’t lose your grip! This is our first look at Season 2 of Loki, and it seems like we’re in for a crazy adventure across time and space.

Loki season 2 cast guide

In addition to Hiddleston’s comeback as Loki, Sophia Di Martino has been cast as Sylvie. Ravonna Renslayer will be played by Gugu Mbatha-Raw, while Mobius will be played by Wilson. Miss Minutes’ voice actor, Tara Strong, will stay put. Eugene Cordero, who portrays TVA worker Casey, has been promoted to a series regular, and we also welcome Rafael Casal to the group.

The post-credits sequence of “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” revealed that Jonathan Majors would return in the next season as a new villain named Victor Timely, who is essentially a version of Kang the Conqueror. While production for the MCU took place in 2022, Marvel has yet to address rumors that Majors was embroiled in a domestic conflict earlier this year.

Marvel revealed Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan’s casting for season two during D23 in September 2023. His character’s name is OB, as shown in the season two preview.

Tom Hiddleston is back in the role of the God of Mischief, and this time he’s up against threats to the fabric of reality itself.

When exactly did Loki’s age become known?

Chris Hemsworth’s Thor says he’s 1500 years old in Avengers: Infinity War, while a flashback sequence suggests that Tom Hiddleston’s Loki is 1054 years old when Thanos murders him at the beginning of the film.

Thanos’s age when he first debuted in the MCU, in 2012’s The Avengers, is never discussed canonically, although director Joe Russo has verified it to be approximately a thousand years. That would mean Thanos is younger than Thor and Loki, a fact that may have been distracting if it had been revealed in any of the previous two Avengers movies.

How many seasons of Loki are there?

Premiering on Disney+ on June 9, 2021, Loki had a six-episode initial season that ended on July 14, 2021. The MCU’s Phase Four includes this film. The return of the series, which will debut on October 6, 2023, as part of Phase Five of the MCU, will also have six episodes.
