Lindsay Lohan may be working on a Freaky Friday sequel, but her new hair alteration brings to mind another legendary film role.
On Monday, July 29, the 38-year-old actress took to Instagram to unveil her new blonde hair. “Bts of a fun photo shoot this weekend,” she captioned the image, which also tagged brothers and photographers Luca and Alessandro Morelli.
In the images, Lohan’s normal rich copper locks were replaced with a lighter, strawberry-blonde tint with faint golden accents. She wore natural makeup (with her characteristic freckles prominently shown) and a casual white T-shirt, her waist-length curls flowing over her shoulders.
Celebrity hairdresser Dimitris Giannetos created the star’s haircut, which he nicknamed “churro waves” in his Instagram picture.
Lohan has been shooting Freaky Friday 2, the sequel to her 2003 comedy, with original co-stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Chad Michael Murray.
In the original film, Lohan’s character Anna had darker hair with big blonde highlights to match her grunge, punk-rock style. However, her most recent style is more reminiscent of her lighter blonde hair in the 2004 film Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen.
In an interview with Nightline on June 29, the actor discussed her nostalgic return to Walt Disney Studios to begin production on the Freaky Friday revival.
“For me, it was when I went on to the Disney lot,” Lohan told me. “And being back on the Disney lot, which is more than simply Freaky Friday. That, to me, is The Parent Trap. This is Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. “That is Herbie.”
She said, “There are so many times for me. So when I arrived there, I felt like I was a child again.”
During a June 27 interview on Good Morning America, Lohan said that her planned sequel with Curtis, 65, would be “much freakier than you would expect.”
“Jamie and I have stayed in touch over the years,” she stated. “So it’s kind of, you know, they always say, like, when you have a best friend or someone who you are really close with if you cannot see them for years and years, but when you see them again, it’s like you never separated.”
The actress also celebrated her 38th birthday on July 2. “Another trip around the sun,” Lohan said beside a cheerful Instagram selfie.
“Grateful for every moment, cherishing every second of the day and all that life has to give. I feel fortunate. “Thank you for all of your wonderful birthday wishes,” she wrote.
