Blonde Movie Story and Plot

Gladys Mortenson, who suffered from mental illness herself, was the one responsible for bringing up Norma Jeane Mortenson when she was a little child. In 1933, on the occasion of her seventh birthday, Gladys gives her a photograph of a guy in a frame and tells her that he is her father. Later on that night, a fire breaks out in the Hollywood Hills, and Gladys brings Norma Jeane up there, stating that her father lives there.

However, Gladys is compelled to bring Norma Jeane back down since the police have ordered her to do so. When Norma Jeane inquires about her father, Gladys loses her temper and attempts to drown Norma Jeane in the bathtub, but she ultimately lets her go. Norma Jeane runs away and hides in the home of her next-door neighbor, Miss Flynn, who assures her that everything will be well. After a few days have passed, Norma Jeane is placed in an orphanage, and Gladys is sent to a mental institution after it is determined that she is unable to properly care for a kid.

In the 1940s, Norma Jeane adopts the stage name Marilyn Monroe and becomes a pin-up girl. She begins to appear on the covers of magazines and calendars at this time. She was raped by Mr. Z, the head of the film company, while she was just starting out in the performing industry. She puts in an audition for the part of Nell in Don’t Bother to Knock in the year 1951.

The audition is a failure due to her emotional breakdown and subsequent departure in tears; yet, the casting director is convinced enough by her performance to offer her the role. In the midst of the meteoric growth of her acting career, she crosses paths with Charles “Cass” Chaplin Jr. and Edward G. “Eddy” Robinson Jr., both of whom she eventually initiates a polyamorous relationship with. Norma Jeane’s breakthrough role came in 1953 with the film Niagara.

However, after she was seen out in public with Cass and Eddy, her agent instructed her to limit the number of times she appeared with them in public. This upset Norma Jeane because she believed that her Marilyn persona was merely a role and not who she really was.

Norma Jeane is overjoyed when she discovers that she is pregnant with Cass, but she ultimately makes the decision to kill the child because she is concerned that the kid may get Gladys’ mental illness. Cass is on board with any choice she makes. The day before the appointment, she has a change of heart, but it is too late to cancel the appointment. As a result of the abortion, she terminates her relationships with Cass and Eddy.

Later on, she crosses paths with Joe DiMaggio, a former baseball player who is now retired. He listens sympathetically when she describes her aspiration to move away from Hollywood and pursue a career as a professional actress in New York City. She is working on the film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes when she gets a letter from a guy who says he is her biological father.

During the screening of the film, Norma Jeane expresses dissatisfaction with her on-screen performance, claiming that she does not recognize herself in the character. She was informed that someone would be waiting for her when she got back to her hotel room, so she went back there. She was under the impression that it was her father, but instead, she found Joe, who made a proposal, which she hesitantly accepted.

When Cass and Eddy offer Joe some naked press images of Norma Jeane, he becomes so enraged that he slaps her and insists that she refuse to perform The Seven Year Itch out of principle. This causes a rift in Norma Jeane and Joe’s marriage, which ultimately ends in divorce. Despite this, she continues with the shoot and even participates in the now-famous PR stunt with the white dress. After she returns home, a drunk Joe is waiting for her and begins to yell and physically assault her. Soon after that, she gets a divorce from him.

The year is 1955, and Norma Jeane is trying out for a role in the Broadway play Magda, which was written by the great writer Arthur Miller. Her performance during a run-through of the script impresses everyone except Arthur. When she provides him with some intelligent commentary about his character, he ultimately begins to warm up to her.

Norma Jeane and Arthur are married and relocate to Maine, where they have a great life together and she eventually has a child with him. On the other hand, she falls and spills the food when she is strolling on the beach one day carrying a platter of food. She was devastated by the news, but she quickly got back into acting.

Norma Jeane’s out-of-control behavior and mental instability worsen during the course of the production of Some Like It Hot. She believes that she is becoming a joke, has regular tantrums on set, notably at director Billy Wilder, and becomes progressively estranged from Arthur as a result of the continual attention that she receives from the press. She starts using drugs to help her deal with the stress in her life.

By the year 1962, she had developed an addiction to both narcotics and alcohol. Secret Service officers pick up a drunk Norma Jeane and take her to a hotel to see the president. Once there, the president compels her to fellate him in order to rape her, and then he has her hauled away when she throws up in his bed.

She is already groggy and high on medicines when she starts to question whether this is what being ‘Marilyn Monroe’ has led to. Before she is taken back to her house in Los Angeles, she also hallucinates that she is having another abortion. She finds out from Eddy over the phone that Cass has passed away and left something for her.

At first, she denies the existence of this item, but Eddy eventually convinces her to have a look at it, and he delivers it to her in the mail in a package. The stuffed tiger plush that Norma Jeane discovered when the three of them were together is revealed to be Cass’ memento, and the package also contains a letter written by him in which he admits that the letters that Norma Jeane has been receiving, purportedly from her father, were actually written by him.

Norma Jeane, whose life has been shattered by the information, takes an excessive amount of barbiturates and then takes her own life. She has a vision of her father there waiting for her when she arrives in the hereafter while she is lying on her deathbed.
