Kelly Rowland Stuns in White Gown and Diamonds as Celebrities Gather for Red Sea Film Fest amfAR Gala Venezia

Kelly Rowland was the epitome of elegance as she graced the annual amfAR gala in Venice on Sunday, stunning in a white ensemble.

The 43-year-old singer, currently filming Building the Band in Manchester, England, demonstrated her impeccable fashion sense in a gorgeous gown designed by Cheney Chan.

The strapless gown was a masterpiece, with layers of white chiffon meticulously crafted into hundreds of delicate pleats, exuding sophistication and style.

The designer described the gown’s unique silhouette with its pointed hips as “FengYaQi” on social media, representing a fusion of innovation and traditional Chinese culture. The design was inspired by deconstructing porcelain shapes and reimagining them as fashion elements.

Kelly Rowland completed her look with white pumps and adorned herself in a stunning array of Chopard diamonds, sparkling from her ears to her wrists.

To add a touch of color, she and her stylist selected a sapphire and diamond brooch or earring, elegantly placed at the waist of her dress.

The Motivation singer sported a platinum blonde bob with dark roots, providing an eye-catching contrast to her outfit.

Her makeup was understated yet perfect for the camera, featuring a neutral pink lip with a burgundy outline.

As a member of Destiny’s Child, Rowland was set to perform at the annual event, aimed at raising funds for AIDS and HIV research, treatment, education, and advocacy.

Rowland has long been a dedicated advocate for the cause, earning the organization’s Award of Courage in 2022 for her commitment.

The gala, held alongside the 81st Venice International Film Festival, welcomed a host of celebrity guests, including Hollywood star Antonio Banderas, British actor Lucien Laviscount, and US actor Richard Gere, among others.

Shivani Pandya, Managing Director of the Red Sea Film Festival, and Mohammed Al-Turki, the Saudi producer and former CEO of the Red Sea Film Foundation, were also seen on the red carpet prior to the gala.

Jomana Al-Rashid, Chairwoman of the Red Sea Film Foundation, presided over the event.

During the gala, Al-Turki was recognized with the amfAR Philanthropic Leadership Award. amfAR praised his “extraordinary dedication to supporting HIV research and his unwavering commitment to advancing the fight against AIDS” on social media.

In the meantime, four productions supported by the Red Sea Fund have been chosen for screening at the prestigious film festival.

The RSFF-backed films Aïcha and Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo will be featured in the Orizzonti and Orizzonti Extra sections, respectively.

Additionally, two Red Sea Fund-supported titles, Aisha Can’t Fly Away Anymore and In This Darkness, I See You, will be showcased in the Venice Production Bridge’s Final Cut initiative.

Two additional Red Sea Fund-supported films will be showcased in Venice’s Giornate degli Autori sidebar: Hind Meddeb’s documentary Sudan, Remember Us, and To Kill a Mongolian Horse by Chinese director Xiaoxuan Jiang.

“This year in Venice, the Foundation is proud to support four films that highlight the significance and impact of Arab, Asian, and African cinema, reflecting our core values of creativity, diversity, and cultural exchange,” said Al-Rashid in a statement.

She also noted, “We are excited to highlight our expansion into Asia with the support of Chinese director Xiaoxuan Jiang, marking our first project from China.”
