Gil Kenan, who co-wrote the screenplay for the upcoming American supernatural comedy Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire with Jason Reitman, will also direct the film. In addition to being the fifth installment in the Ghostbusters series, it is the sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021).
In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the Spengler family decides to leave Summerville, Oklahoma, and return to the place where it all began: the legendary firehouse in New York City. They do this to assist the original Ghostbusters, who have created a top-secret research facility to take the process of destroying ghosts to the next level.
However, in light of the unearthing of an ancient artifact that discharges the Death Chill, an enigmatic and malevolent force, both veterans and newcomers to the Ghostbusters franchise are compelled to unite in safeguarding their domicile and averting a perilous and capricious destiny that, without their knowledge, may inadvertently rewrite the annals of earthly history. Sony Pictures Releasing has set March 29, 2024, as the release date for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire in the United States. This is the best horror movie on Netflix.

The first teaser trailer for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire focuses on a killer storm that comes down on the city. This storm is said to carry something that is known as the “death chill.” We all know who to call, which is fortunate.

Sony Pictures announced the sequel in April 2022, with Reitman returning as director, in response to Afterlife’s popularity. Later on, in December of that year, Kenan would take over as director from Reitman, while the other members of the ensemble would continue to play their parts.
The March 2023 announcement of new cast members, which included Nanjiani, Oswalt, James Acaster, and Emily Alyn Lind, coincided with the commencement of the principal photograph that same month and its conclusion in June 2023. Ivan Reitman, who directed the first two films in the Ghostbusters series and produced successive films until his death in February 2022, will not be involved in the production of this picture, which will be dedicated to his memory. This will be the first film in the franchise to be filmed without his participation.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire Release date
Sony Pictures Releasing has decided to release Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire on March 29, 2024. This date will replace the release date that was originally set for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. Previous plans were for its release to take place on December 20, 2023; however, as a result of the SAG-AFTRA strike that took place in 2023, the release date was moved to March 29, 2024.
