First Look at Jason Momoa in ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ Trailer

Nicole Kidman, who plays Queen Atlanna, may be seen in the preview.

The first trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the sequel to the 2018 smash blockbuster, premiered on Warner Brothers Discovery on Sunday. In the preview, Jason Momoa is shown reuniting with Patrick Wilson’s Ocean Master in his role as Justice League hero Arthur Curry, King of Atlantis.

After this teaser, a full-length trailer will drop in only four days, so fans won’t have to wait long for further details.

This sneak peek features Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, who swears revenge for his father’s murder in the opening scene. As images of Arthur’s burned-down boyhood home played in the background, the antagonist vowed, “I’m going to kill Aquaman and destroy everything he holds dear.”

Wilson appears in the trailer as Orm, the ex-king of Atlantis, while Nicole Kidman appears as Queen Atlanna, Arthur’s mother.

The first Aquaman film grossed over $1 billion worldwide, making it the most successful film in the DCEU’s history. Five years after the first blockbuster hit theaters in 2018, the sequel will finally be released on December 20.

Mera, princess of Xebel and Arthur’s love interest, is played again by Amber Heard in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, however, she is not shown in the trailer.

During the Depp/Heard trial, DC Films CEO Walter Hamada testified that her screen time in the upcoming Aquaman sequel was cut down due to chemistry issues with co-star Jason Momoa.

Heard’s representative at WME, Jessica Kovacevic, has indicated that she thinks the bad news surrounding Heard’s charges against Johnny Depp has hurt her career behind the scenes.

“In my experience, Your career takes a turn after something like that,” Kovacevic said. “At the time, everyone was pleased with her performance in the film, so there were no problems. I don’t have a tangible piece of paper proving it, but that’s the only reasonable conclusion I can draw given her subsequent downfall and the prevalence of negative tweets and publicity around her.

In the meantime, the plot description for the upcoming sequel reads: “Black Manta, still motivated by the urge to revenge his father’s murder, will stop at nothing to take Aquaman down once and for all after failing to beat him the first time. Now armed with the mythical Black Trident, which releases an ancient and terrible energy, Black Manta is more powerful than ever before. In order to destroy him, Aquaman will create an odd alliance with his imprisoned brother Orm, the former King of Atlantis. To prevent the collapse of their kingdom and preserve Aquaman’s loved ones and the Earth, they will need to put aside their differences and work together.

Wan celebrated the last day of principal photography on January 12 by posting a candid snapshot from the set on Instagram.

Wrapping pictures for #Aquaman2 in Malibu today, the very last day of filming. Gypsy Pride @thereelpatrickwilson He captioned the photo, “Yes, we do get very wet, a lot,” suggesting that water damage was a common occurrence on the program.

Thank you so much to the amazing team for their hard work and dedication to this film. The majority of the film was really filmed in the United Kingdom. Some of the best artists and crafters I’ve ever worked with. And I want to give a huge shout-out to the incredible units in Hawaii and California,” Wan said. I still have a long way to go before I can show you my little video, but I can’t wait.

On December 20th, audiences may see Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in cinemas.
