The actress, aged 51, assumes the role of Griselda Blanco, the head of a Colombian drug gang, in the next limited series titled Griselda, which will premiere on Netflix on January 25th.
The six-episode series is derived from the creative minds of Eric Newman and Andrés Baiz, the creators of the popular television shows Narcos and Narcos: Mexico. It draws inspiration from the life of Griselda Blanco, a significant figure known for establishing one of the most lucrative drug gangs in recorded history.
Midway through the 1970s, the group in question was involved in the transportation of about 300 kilograms of cocaine each month, with a market value of over $80 million. Moreover, it is believed that the individual in question was directly or indirectly involved in the murders of several individuals, maybe exceeding dozens. The moniker “Cocaine Godmother” was bestowed upon her due to a combination of her captivating allure and ruthless nature.
The first teaser for the Netflix series consists of a concise 36-second clip, whereby a vehicle moves at a leisurely pace before transitioning to a gathering of individuals who are seated, engrossed in quiet contemplation while attentively perceiving auditory stimuli.
“You’ve thought a lot about me, haven’t you?” Griselda’s statement is made off-screen. “I’ve heard that you liked my product. We can make a lot of money together.”
Her remarks are peppered with small anecdotes about the transportation of narcotics, a guy using cocaine, and suitcases full of cash.

Cast members for Griselda include Christian Tappan as Arturo Mesa, Martin Rodrguez as Rivi Ayala, Juliana Aidén Martinez as June Hawkins, and Vanessa Ferlito as Carmen Gutiérrez. Alberto Guerra plays the role of Dario Sepulveda.
The cast of guest appearances includes Carolina Giraldo, also known as Karol G, in the role of Carla, Fredy Yate portraying Chucho Castro, José Zúñiga as Amilcar, Paulina Dávila as Isabel, and Camilo Jiménez Varón as Rafa Salazar.
