Netflix’s Unbelievable is a miniseries based on Washington and Colorado serial rape cases, certainly a dramatized version which released on 13 September 2019.
Netflix holds the prestige of presenting us with the most remarkable masterpieces that perfectly highlight the realities of life. So, here it goes with another masterpiece which itself holds the unbelievable approach as its name is.
Unbelievable released in the past week on Netflix and captured the attention of millions of people from all over the world. The miniseries is based on a true story initiated by falsifying serial rapes reported between 2008 and 2011.
So, here is the dramatized version of the serial rape cases. Unbelievable presents the dramatization of the serial rape cases first of which reported by a 16 years old named Marie. Anyhow, the police falsified her claim persuading her to state that she’s not raped and all she reported was a lie.
However, the series moved ahead with another rape victim with the same situation as reported by Marie. The rapist raped the other girl in the same way as Marie reported. But the police falsified her proving that she’s kind of sick mentality with a “look at me” psych. Consequently, the series unfolds the truth as it progresses with similar rape case reports.
Well, as per the true story the rapist then arrested and sentenced to 327 years in prison. To dig out the whole truth and have a remarkable representation of these rape cases in Unbelievable which itself is unbelievable, you have to binge the miniseries, Unbelievable on Netflix.
Is Unbelievable and When They See Us are Linked?
Another thing that pop-up in my mind while I came across Unbelievable is that it somehow seems like Netflix’s miniseries, When They See Us which released back in May. If you remember, When They See Us follows the story based on true events of the Central Park Jogger Case. Anyhow, the accused ones of rape and killings in the miniseries and the protagonist in actuality. As they blame for the crime, they didn’t commit.

Well, there’s no direct linkage between Unbelievable and When They See Us as both of the series follow entirely different rape cases except for the fact that both of them are true.
