Matt Duffer continued, “Will’s going to be a significant component and focus is basically all I can say of Season 5, in his journey, when asked what they might reveal about Will’s future in the season. His maturation is definitely beginning to become apparent. It has proven difficult for several factors, some of which are magical. But you can already see him starting to mature. Ross Duffer continued, “[It’s] preparing us for a complete circle return to Season 1. Not just with Will, but with a few of the character arcs as well, I believe you’ll see that. However, there are still issues with Steve and Nancy, as well as her connection with Jonathan. The trip for the characters hasn’t ended yet, even though they may have made progress, as in Will’s case. All of that will be really important as we attempt to wrap up this upcoming season.
Schnapp has consistently been one of the most natural and undervalued actors in a cast full of excellent performers. Long-time viewers of the series are thrilled to hear that Will will once again take center stage in Season 5 as he matures. There is no shortage of recognizable characters in Stranger Things, and for anyone who can identify with May Byers, the possibility that he will finally be able to be himself and receive nothing but love and support from his friends and family is undoubtedly a source of optimism.
