Tocvan Ventures Secures Mining Veteran to Advance Mexican Gold Project

Tocvan Ventures has enlisted a prominent mining industry figure to guide its transition toward gold production. The company announced the appointment of Darin Wagner as a strategic advisor, bringing over 35 years of sector experience to the team. Wagner is noted for his role in founding and subsequently selling West Timmins Mining for $424 million and Balmoral Resources for $140 million, transactions that underscore his expertise in creating and realizing value.

His primary focus at Tocvan will be directing exploration strategy

and project development, with particular attention on the gold-silver systems at the company’s flagship Gran Pilar asset in Sonora, Mexico.

Operational Momentum and Funding

This strategic hire coincides with a pivotal operational phase for the junior explorer. Tocvan is currently advancing plans to construct a pilot plant at its Gran Pilar site, designed with a capacity of 50,000 tonnes. The project spans more than 21 square kilometers in Sonora, a region considered highly prospective for precious metals.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Tocvan Ventures?

The company’s development plans are backed by a C$10 million financing round that was finalized in February. These funds are being allocated to finance the plant construction and to support an ongoing drill program. Recently, Tocvan completed six exploration holes in new target areas within the “South Block” of the property, aiming to further demonstrate the site’s potential.

Share Price Context

After a strong performance earlier in the year, Tocvan’s shares have undergone a period of consolidation. The stock reached a 52-week high of €0.77 on February 11 but has since pulled back, trading at €0.52 as of Thursday. While this represents a decline of approximately 28% since the start of the year, the share price remains significantly higher over a 12-month horizon.

With its treasury strengthened and a seasoned advisor now on board, Tocvan has established the operational foundation for its next development stages. Market attention will now turn to the technical results from the latest drill campaigns and visible progress on building the pilot mine in Mexico.
