Now, nevertheless, 24-year-old internet celebrity is open about her skin’s situation.
Previously involved in a legal dispute with GymShark, the content producer posted a series of makeup-free pictures on Instagram accompanied by a long commentary after out on the town seeing the dermatologist.
Her caption started, “Wore no face makeup out this wknd in nyc & the info I have gathered is that no one cares & we are our own worst enemy. 😆 (dramatic info to follow)”.
She admitted that her skin “has struggled” since middle school.
For me in terms of feeling confident and comfortable when leaving the house, makeup has always been a refuge.
Alix then said she wanted to remove the breakout she was currently experiencing by keeping her skin free of cosmetics.
She went on: “We did full extractions to clear my pores; I see @drmianskin in NYC.”
Usually, I follow my regular schedule and apply makeup to hide the redness—especially for parties or dinners when I’m heading out.
But wanted to give my skin a break this wknd, so for the first time ever I decided not to apply any makeup to it.
She claimed the change was “dramatic” and she was “petrified” and terrified the only thing others would notice was her skin.
‘After three days of fresh face displaying my actual skin tone… No one cared or noticed, Alix noted.
“Because at the end of the day putting on makeup over blistering acne just to wash it off and irritate it isn’t for me.”
It’s for people I fear could criticize me. Coming home last night felt rolly freeing. I urge everyone who needs to give their skin a break at school, job, etc to try it.
