Australian black operations mercenary Tyler Rake returns to battle in the official trailer for Netflix’s action sequel.
In the official teaser for Extraction 2, Chris Hemsworth’s character, black operations mercenary Tyler Rake, returns from the brink of death to carry out a rescue mission after being specifically asked to do so.
Nine months ago, Rake was declared clinically dead, as seen in the exciting video below. But he managed to claw his way back, and now he must determine what went wrong.
Rake has survived the events of the first film and is now on a perilous quest to free the family of a vicious Georgian criminal from jail. In the relentless, vicious, and gory Extraction 2 teaser, Hemsworth continues to do such death-defying exploits.
While grieving the loss of his own son, the Australian mercenary in the first Extraction thriller had to go into action to save the abducted son of an incarcerated Indian drug baron. The original Extraction premiered on Netflix in 2020, and Rake seemed to die in it, but a shocking twist called his death into doubt.
Ciudad, by Ande Parks, was the source material for the first cinematic adaptation.
In Extraction 2, Joe and Anthony Russo’s AGBO will produce, and Joe Russo will write a screenplay for, reuniting Hemsworth with filmmaker Sam Hargrave. The sequel’s screenplay was written by Joe Russo, who also wrote the original.
Hemsworth, Patrick Newall, Hargrave, Mike Larocca, Angela Russo-Otstot, Eric Gitter, and Peter Schwerin are all listed as producers with the Russo brothers. The executive producers are Ben Grayson, Steve Scavelli, Chris Markus, Stephen McFeely, and Jake Aust.
Golshifteh Farahani returns in the sequel as well, continuing the role she had in Extraction. The rest of the cast includes Olga Kurylenko, Daniel Bernhardt, Tinatin Dalakishvili, Adam Bessa, and Tornike Gogrichiani.
