Employees of The Walt Disney Company planned walkouts today in protest of the company’s “lack of compassion and advocacy” toward its LGBTQIA+ employees and their rights.
Disney-owned Marvel Studios stated on Twitter condemning “any legislation that infringes on the basic human rights of the LGBTQIA+ community,”, particularly in light of Florida’s so-called “Don’t Say Gay” bill.

Disney employs almost 80,000 people in Florida, with most of its Southern California-based Parks, Experiences, and Products Division jobs moving to a new regional campus in central Florida. It now has economic and political clout as a result of this.
