OHB SE shares fell sharply on Thursday, caught in a broad downdraft across European aerospace and defence names. The stock was down 8.9% in the session, with one report putting the decline at as much as 11% at its worst. No company-specific negative catalyst was identified in media coverage; Airbus, Leonardo and Thales were also under pressure, pointing to sector sentiment rather than anything emanating from OHB itself.
The retreat extends a pullback that began earlier in the week. Wednesday’s slide was likewise attributed in media reports to possible profit-taking or a technical correction following a strong run, again without any burdensome corporate announcement to explain it.
Broker chorus stays bullish
Against that softer tape, the analyst community has been busy reaffirming its support. Jefferies reiterated its buy rating and its EUR 280 price target on Wednesday, with analyst Chloe Lemarie expecting the positive margin trends seen in the first half to carry through into the upcoming quarterly figures. In her view, OHB was on track to meet its full-year targets. Her comments are expectations ahead of the next financial report, not already-reported quarterly results.
Berenberg added its own vote of confidence on Tuesday, according to media reports, restating a buy recommendation with a EUR 358 target. NuWays had already confirmed its buy call on 16 October, setting a EUR 340 price target. The research house estimated OHB’s possible share of SATCOMBw 4 at 50–70% and put the potential order intake at EUR 5–7 billion in the first half of 2027 — an analyst projection for possible incoming business, not a contract that has been reported as awarded.
A stake in MediaMobil and a completed test rig
On the corporate side, OHB agreed a strategic partnership with MediaMobil Communication GmbH on Monday. Under the deal, OHB will acquire 25% of MediaMobil’s shares through a capital increase, according to company statements. No purchase price was disclosed in the announcement.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying OHB SE?
Separately, OHB reported a completed operational milestone on 22 October: OHB Digital Connect wrapped up Eu-BEST, an EU-funded project to build and sign off a modular test stand for rocket engines. The European Union backed the programme with EUR 4.96 million. Commissioning and final acceptance of the test stand for rocket engines and rocket stages formed part of the successful close-out, OHB said.
Astroscale memorandum adds another thread
OHB and Astroscale Holdings Inc. also signed a letter of intent on Wednesday. The two companies intend to explore possible cooperation in space safety, space situational awareness and in-orbit services. No concrete joint projects or order volumes were named.
The next scheduled news event is 12 November, when OHB plans to publish its quarterly financial report for the third quarter of 2026.
