MEK Iran’s satellite television channel Simaye Azadi, also known as Iran National Television, held its 25th “Free Iran Telethon”. The telethon started on January 8 at 5:30 PM (Iranian time) and lasted until 10:30 AM on January 12, 2021.
Over the course of the 50-hour Telethon, which took place in 10 different studios in five different countries, 12 presenters were joined by 88 guests. Also, over 100 telephone lines as well as internet and social media platforms, such as Telegram, Zoom, and Skype were available for people to manifest their support.
Many Iranians, particularly from the Iranian diaspora, expressed their support for the Iranian Resistance’s cause for freedom. Among them were members of the MEK Iran and brave youth.
A total of 6,532,500 US dollars of pledges and contributions were collected in this 25th Free Iran Telethon, not including the non-cash gifts, such as gold, artistic masterpieces, carpets, and pieces of jewelry.
Taking into account that these contributions made in an extremely difficult financial situation, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. This year’s Telethon is exceptionally significant in comparison to previous ones.

The desire for Freedom:
This telethon clearly represents the desire for freedom of the Iranian people and it is also proof of the Iranian Resistance’s root in society.
Another important highlight of this 50-hour telethon on the MEK Iran’s satellite television channel was the contributions by prisoners. Despite imprisonment, they have sent letters with statements of support and renewed pledges.
All of the aforementioned makes this telethon “march by rebels” for free Iran and the establishment of popular sovereignty.
MEK Iran supporters and Resistance Units stayed consistent in their struggle to overthrow the mullahs’ regime, despite the coronavirus outbreak and the hardships inside Iran and under the mullahs’ regime.
Heartwarming moving calls by so many Iranians, suffering from illnesses, particularly the coronavirus, could be witnessed at this telethon.
Iranians from a broad geographical scope contacted the MEK Iran’s satellite television channel Simaye Azadi, to donate money and solemnly promised to continue their efforts to liberate Iran.
Iranian Resistance’s Activities:
MEK Iran’s Simaye Azadi praised by the diaspora for broadcasting the Iranian Resistance’s activities both inside and outside Iran. This clearly shows the vast support that the Iranian Resistance and MEK Iran enjoy. Among Iranians inside and outside the country, and its strong political and social base.
Moreover, the Iranian people’s desire for regime change shown by the volume of calls and messages from Iran, which was extremely high.
In a statement issued about the 25th telethon, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, sent greetings to the Iranian people and rebels. She congratulated them for bravery and united in their struggle for freedom. Despite their poverty, and a multitude of challenges such as illnesses, air pollution, and the coronavirus outbreak. Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, also indicated that this telethon is clear proof of the sincerity, fraternity, love, and boundless compassion of a united and determined nation. She committed to bringing freedom to the enchained country of Iran.
