Margot Robbie reveals the reason she’s still nicknamed ‘maggot’ since she was six years old

In a recent interview, Margot Robbie explained why she was given the nickname “Maggot” in high school.

The actress, who has been nominated for an Oscar twice before, made an appearance on The Project on Tuesday night to promote her newest film, Babylon. She said that she got the name after a bad thing that happened to her when she was in elementary school.

Margot shared with the other members of the jury that she had gone by that moniker ever since she was six years old.

She went on to say, “I believe a replacement teacher made a mistake on the roll call and yelled “maggot,” and everyone in the room loved laughing.”

Robbie went on to remark that at the time, she thought that the mishap would have become a distant memory by lunchtime, but “here we are” still talking about it nearly over two decades later. Robbie also said that she hoped that the blunder would have become a distant memory by lunchtime.

One person commented that “She seems so comfortable and happy,” to which Justin replied, “She was grinning the entire time, was amazing to witness.”

It comes after Robbie turned attention in a floor-length baby blue gown with a daring split that was decorated with red lace embellishments when she attended the film’s Australian premiere in Sydney on Monday.

Margot took the jab in stride and turned to excitedly wave to her friends when she had brushed it off.

She said that she was “scared to screw up” the huge opening party sequence, which had to be filmed for a whole two weeks.

In reference to the Hollywood drama, Margot said, “It was a crazy journey.” There were several incredible set pieces, one of which was a party scene that was shot over the course of two weeks.

Because there was so much going on, and I didn’t want to be the one to screw it up, every aspect of it was wild, and the stress levels were scary.

Babylon is a drama that takes place in 1920s Hollywood and focuses on the rise and fall of several ambitious dreamers, including the characters that major actors Brad Pitt and Margot play in the film.
