Kyle Richards is celebrating her sobriety. On Thursday, July 18, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills actress, 55, celebrated a special event that had been planned for two years.
“This week was my 2 year anniversary of being alcohol-free (July 15th) I can remember a time when the idea of going 2 weeks seemed impossible,” Richards said to her Instagram account.

“I’m proud of the fact that I’ve had the willpower to stay on this path,” Richards said in her article. The photo featured the Bravo star taking a mirror selfie to show off her toned figure.
She flexed her biceps while wearing a black two-piece training gear and stood in front of dumbbells and gym equipment.
“I know a lot of people would want me to start drinking again. Even friends with the greatest intentions. Everyone enjoyed ‘Party Kyle.’ That, I believe, was the most difficult aspect of this whole process. “The opposition of others,” she stated.
Richards described her former self as a “people pleaser,” and lamented the lack of “encouragement” she received early on.
Still reminiscing on her wild partying days, the reality star acknowledged, “I may still drop a split here and there,” before moving on to a more serious track.
“My mental and physical health became a lot more important to me than feeling like I had to be ‘on’ at a party or social setting,” the long comment added. Richards noted that appearing better when she wasn’t drinking was a big motivator to keep going.
“It would have been a lot harder going through these difficult times if I had been drinking,” she said.
While Richards did not elaborate on the “difficult times,” her statement comes just days after her estranged husband Mauricio Umansky was spotted kissing a mystery woman at an airport in Mykonos, Greece, on Tuesday, July 16.
The event happened one year after it was revealed that the Buying Beverly Hills actor, 54, and Richards had split after 27 years of marriage.
The former marriage has three daughters: Alexia (28), Sophia (24), and Portia (16). Richards is also the mother of 35-year-old daughter Farrah Brittany from her former marriage to Guraish Aldjufrie.
During a May 14 episode of the Bitch Bible podcast, the Halloween actress stated that Umansky had moved out of their shared house to a residence in West Hollywood.
“I knew when that day arrived, it would be odd. It became very real all of a sudden. “That’s exactly what happened,” she said. “I’m accustomed to having a lot of commotion and everything going on in my home. “The day he moved out was strange because I came home and thought, ‘Everything’s so quiet.'”
