It breaks our hearts to tell you this: Kirk Medas has died at the age of 33. Kirk, who was known for being lively on MTV’s Floribama Shore, died too soon, leaving fans and friends sad about the loss of a beloved reality TV star.
An Unexpected Death
Kirk Medas died on May 2, 2025, after a long battle with necrotizing pancreatitis, a severe and uncommon illness that destroyed his liver. He was in the intensive care unit (ICU) of a Miami hospital for almost two weeks and was put on a respirator. He finally went into a coma.
His family revealed the sad news, and tons of messages have come in from friends and co-stars. A talented actress and close friend, Aimee Hall, shared a moving post.
“We lost our brother, our best friend, our heart—Kirk. I was at the beach when I sensed something was wrong. Before the call even came, a dolphin kept coming up to me, as if to say goodbye. Kirk and I shared a love for dolphins and the ocean, and in that moment, I just knew.”
Remembering Kirk Medas
Kirk became well-known in 2017 as a member of the original group of Florida Shore. He will continue to appear in all four seasons until 2021. Fans loved him because he was charismatic and real. He was on other MTV shows besides the show, like Fear Factor and Wild ‘n Out.
Outside of acting, Kirk was known for being kind and reliable. Candace Rice, another co-star, remembered giving him a big hug right before he died and how much she loved that last moment.

In the weeks before he went to the hospital, Kirk wrote on social media about his thoughts and feelings, saying he was thankful and wanted to grow as a person. He talked about giving up drinking and becoming more spiritual to make good changes in his life.
