Jennifer Lopez’s makeup artist, Scott Barnes, is complimenting her after her striking appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival.
On Friday, Sept. 6, the 55-year-old singer and actress wowed onlookers at the premiere of her latest film, Unstoppable. She graced the red carpet in a show-stopping silver gown by Tamara Ralph, which featured high splits elegantly fastened with black velvet bows.
Lopez’s face radiated with a smoky eye and nude lipstick for the event, her first major public appearance since news broke on August 20 that she filed for divorce from Ben Affleck after two years of marriage.
In an Instagram post on Friday, Lopez’s makeup artist praised her TIFF look, stating, “When Jennifer Lopez hits the red carpet, you know we’re going Unstoppable—literally.”
“For the Toronto Film Festival, I had the honor of doing her makeup, and let me tell you, she is serving full disco ball glamour!” Barnes added in his caption, which accompanied a montage clip from the event. “Flawless skin, bold eyes, and that signature glow—because when JLo shows up, she shines from every angle,” he concluded.
Since the announcement of her split from Affleck in August, Lopez has kept a relatively low profile. Although Affleck’s and Matt Damon’s production company, Artists Equity, produced Unstoppable, Affleck did not attend the premiere. Damon was present at the Toronto International Film Festival with his wife, Luciana, and was seen alongside Lopez and the film’s cast.
Unstoppable tells the true story of wrestler Anthony Robles, who, despite being born with one leg, won an NCAA national championship in 2011 with Arizona State University. Lopez portrays Judy Robles, Anthony’s mother, in the film.
Lopez and Affleck wed in Las Vegas on July 17, 2022, rekindling their romance from 2021. They later held a second ceremony with family and friends in Georgia on August 20, 2022—precisely two years before Lopez filed for divorce.
She made significant efforts to salvage their relationship and is deeply heartbroken. A source also revealed that they did not have a prenuptial agreement when they married in Las Vegas.
Unstoppable is set to premiere in select theaters this December.
