Sony is re-entering their Marvel universe with the highly anticipated “Kraven the Hunter,” and they’ve just dropped a brand-new trailer and poster for this R-rated comic book film.
Originally slated for an October 2023 release, “Kraven the Hunter” has been pushed back to December 13, 2024. The film, rated “R” for its intense bloody violence and strong language, stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the formidable Marvel villain Kraven.
“Kraven the Hunter” explores the origins of one of Marvel’s most iconic antagonists, depicting his transformation into the ultimate predator before his famed clash with Spider-Man. Ariana DeBose will take on the role of Calypso, while Christopher Abbott (Possessor) will portray The Foreigner. Levi Miller (Better Watch Out) joins the cast, and Alessandro Nivola (The Many Saints of Newark) will play a secretive villain, with additional appearances by Russell Crowe and Fred Hechinger.
Directed by J.C. Chandor (A Most Violent Year), the film’s screenplay is crafted by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Richard Wenk.
