The Black Christmas fan film It’s Me, Billy is returning this Halloween season with its sequel, It’s Me, Billy: Chapter 2. This upcoming installment will serve as the final chapter in this fan-made saga.
Crafted by Canadian filmmakers Dave McRae and Bruce Dale, who wrote, produced, and directed the film, it’s Me, Billy: Chapter 2 picks up right where the 2021 film left off, continuing the story from the same night.
In this new chapter, the mystery deepens: Jess Bradford’s mansion hides crucial evidence that could clear her former boyfriend, Peter Smythe, and reveal the true killers from the 1974 Bedford case. As the story unfolds, Sam and her grandmother now isolated and in danger, must confront the sinister forces of Christmas evil before they are consumed by darkness.
Returning to the franchise is Lynne Griffin, known for her role as Clare in the original 1974 film. Griffin reprises her role as Nancy, Clare’s sister, who is determined to solve her sibling’s decades-old cold case.
Olivia Hussey, who was initially set to reprise her role as Jess Bradford, had to withdraw due to health issues. Canadian actress Lisa Kovack will step in to play Jess. Victoria Mero returns as Sam, Jess’s granddaughter, with Caro Coltman as Agnes and Bryan Charles Peter as the notorious Billy.
The filmmakers share their vision: “When we started this journey in 2019, our aim was to pay homage to the original Black Christmas with a high-quality unofficial sequel. We knew the story had to end on a cliffhanger in Chapter 1, and thanks to the support from Black Christmas and horror fans worldwide who backed our Indiegogo campaign, we’re able to conclude our tale. This year, marking the 50th anniversary of the original Black Christmas, we’re thrilled to wrap up our two-part series and honor such a remarkable legacy. We’re deeply grateful for the ongoing support from horror and Black Christmas fans.”
It’s Me, Billy: Chapter 2 will be available for free on YouTube and Vimeo starting Friday, October 11, 2024, as a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the 1974 classic.
