David Crosby tweeted that heaven is “overrated” and “cloudy” a day before he died.

A day before he died, David Crosby made a joke about heaven.

The Byrds and Crosby, Stills, and Nash co-founder joked on Twitter early Wednesday morning that heaven is “overrated.”

In response to a screenshot of a Google search that asked, “Can we go to heaven with tattoos?” he tweeted, “I heard the place is overrated…cloudy.”

The search led to the result, “People with tattoos won’t go to heaven.” Alcohol drinkers won’t get to go to heaven. Those who eat too much pork won’t go to heaven either. People who are short won’t go to heaven.”

Also on Wednesday, Crosby replied to a tweet that asked what the best Beatles song for a rainy day was, and he said “Rigby.”

Some of the 81-year-bandmates old’s gave statements to Fox News Digital after hearing about his death.

Graham Nash, a member of the band Crosby, Stills, and Nash, said in a statement, “It is with deep sadness that I learned my friend David Crosby had died. People like to talk about how unstable our relationship has been at times, but David and I have always cared more about the pure joy of the music we made together, the sounds we discovered with each other, and the deep friendship we’ve had for so many years.

Nash went on to say, “David had no fear in life or in music. He leaves a huge hole in this world in terms of personality and talent. Through his beautiful music, he said what was on his mind, in his heart, and in his soul. He leaves behind an amazing legacy. These are the most important things. My heart goes out to his wife, Jan, and his son, Django, as well as to everyone else he has helped.

“Death has come in on the calm paws of a cat.” I should have seen that something was wrong. David and I have bumped heads a lot over the years. Most of the time, they were just light taps, but they still left us with numb heads. I was glad that we could get along. He was without a doubt a huge musician, and the way he thought about harmony was nothing short of genius. The glue that kept us together as our voices reached for the sun like Icarus. I am very saddened by his death, and I will miss him terribly.”

Crosby’s wife of 36 years, Jan Dance, first told Variety that her husband had died. She said, “It is with great sadness that our beloved David (Croz) Crosby has passed away after a long illness. He was surrounded by his wife and soulmate Jan and son Django, who loved him very much.

“Even though he is no longer with us, his good heart and humanity will continue to guide and inspire us,” the statement said. His music will keep his legacy alive for years to come. Peace, love, and harmony to everyone who knew and was touched by David. We’ll miss him very much. At this time, we respectfully and kindly ask for privacy as we grieve and try to deal with our deep loss. We appreciate your love and prayers.”

Crosby was first put in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with The Byrds in 1991. In 1997, he was inducted again as a member of Crosby, Stills, and Nash.
