Mako’s commitment to its patients and excellence has remained evident throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently passing its four millionth COVID test at its Vance County facility, Mako has been a significant player in the fight against the virus. The company’s success in testing led it to formally accept the role as the official COVID-19 test provider for both the Atlantic Coast Conference and the Big South Conference, ensuring that teams will be able to compete safely with one another.
As the pandemic progresses and the virus mutates, Mako has made sure that it is committed to staying on top of the latest variant testing. Recently, the organization identified COVID test samples with the most recent B.1.1.7 variant along with other virus variants. Its industry-leading testing ensures that it will be able to detect the new B.1.1.7 variants and other variants as they arise and help curb the spread of the virus as it inevitably mutates.

Mako’s commitment to supporting the national community during the pandemic is representative of its philanthropy and values that date back to the inception of the organization. When creating Mako, Price and Arant envisioned a Christian-value-led organization that emphasized charitable giving and community engagement.
