Broadcom’s Robust Forecast and Shareholder Returns Drive Investor Confidence

Broadcom is demonstrating strength across multiple business segments simultaneously. The company’s latest quarterly guidance has surpassed market expectations, a new high-performance networking product has entered mass production, and shareholders are set to receive another dividend payment. This confluence of positive developments paints a consistently optimistic picture for the semiconductor and infrastructure software giant.

Financial Outlook and AI Ambitions

Broadcom’s financial guidance is a primary driver of the current bullish sentiment. For the second quarter, the company anticipates revenue of approximately $22 billion, a figure that significantly exceeds the analyst consensus estimate of $20.56 billion. A major contributor to this growth is its AI chip segment, which is projected to reach $10.7 billion. This represents a sequential increase of roughly 30%.

Looking further ahead, management has set an ambitious long-term target: it aims to generate at least $100 billion in revenue from AI chips by the fiscal year 2027. This goal underscores the central role Broadcom expects artificial intelligence to play in its future growth trajectory.

Product Launch and Capital Return Program

On the product front, Broadcom announced on March 12 that its Tomahawk 6 switch has entered series production. This milestone was reached less than three quarters after the first sample units were produced. The new switch doubles the data throughput of its predecessor and is designed to support AI networks incorporating up to 128,000 accelerators, a critical advancement for hyperscalers looking to scale their AI infrastructure.

The company’s strong cash generation is fueling substantial returns to shareholders. In the first quarter, Broadcom produced free cash flow of $8.01 billion. It returned a total of $10.9 billion to investors through a combination of a $3.1 billion dividend payout and $7.8 billion in share repurchases. Furthermore, the board of directors has authorized a new repurchase program for up to $10 billion, effective through the end of 2026.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Broadcom?

Today marks the ex-dividend date for a quarterly cash dividend of $0.65 per share, payable on March 31. This distribution represents the company’s 14th consecutive annual dividend increase, with a payout ratio of about 46%.

Analyst Sentiment and Stock Performance

Market analysts have responded positively to these developments. The consensus 12-month price target, derived from 27 ratings, stands at $437.15 per share. Notably, 92% of covering analysts maintain a “Buy” or “Strong Buy” recommendation.

Several firms have recently raised their targets. Morgan Stanley increased its price objective to $470, citing improved long-term visibility and robust performance in Broadcom’s networking segment. Bernstein took an even more bullish stance, setting a $525 target based on the better-than-expected AI guidance for Q2.

Despite this operational momentum, which is clearly reflected in the financial projections, Broadcom’s share price currently trades approximately 22% below its 52-week high from December 2025. Investors are likely awaiting the next key data point: the quarterly earnings report scheduled for release on June 3.
