Apex Critical Metals Commences Drilling Campaign at Nebraska Rare Earth Project

The exploration phase at Apex Critical Metals’ Rift Rare Earth Project in Nebraska has entered a new operational stage. The company has fully mobilized its Phase I drilling program, now operating two rigs simultaneously. This marks a significant step forward in delineating the potential of the Elk Creek Carbonatite Complex.

The immediate focus of this campaign is twofold. First, drilling must verify the anticipated thickness and continuity of the host carbonate rock. Second, subsequent laboratory analysis will be crucial in confirming previously reported indications of high-grade rare earth element (REE) mineralization found in historical data.

  • Phase I drilling is now fully active with two rigs on site
  • Initial core samples are scheduled for laboratory dispatch in the coming weeks
  • The primary objective is to better define the scale and consistency of the mineralization

Operational Progress and Targets

Drilling is currently underway at two distinct holes. The first, designated RIFT26-001A, has reached a depth of 110 meters toward a planned target depth of 600 meters. The company anticipates intersecting the critical carbonate host rock at approximately 175 meters.

Significant progress has been reported at the second hole, RIFT26-002. This borehole has already intersected a substantial carbonate section measuring roughly 330 meters in length, which began at a depth of 178 meters.

Defining Scale and Continuity

The core aim of this initial phase is to clarify the size and continuity of the mineralized system. This work builds upon historical drilling results from the area, which indicated extensive intersections of high-grade rare earth element (REE) mineralization. The project targets materials classified as critical minerals, which are essential for modern technologies, clean energy solutions, and national security applications.

Apex has indicated that the first batch of core samples will be submitted for assay in the coming weeks, representing the next tangible milestone for the Phase I program.
