Amphenol’s 99% Order Surge Draws Goldman’s Conviction as Buyback and Dividend Get a Boost

Amphenol shares climbed 4.6% on Friday, but the gain had less to do with the connector maker itself than with a broad rebound across technology stocks. Micron and Nvidia also recovered from Thursday’s selloff, and the Associated Press framed the move as a recovery in AI-linked equities β€” one that unfolded against lingering worries about data-center spending and how it gets financed. In other words, the advance was a sector-wide countermove, not a fresh company development.

Two Brokerages Move on the Same Day

What did come from the company’s corner was a pair of Wall Street endorsements, both dated November 2. Goldman Sachs added Amphenol to its US Conviction List as part of its November refresh, citing the company’s data-center components and its capacity to grow revenue faster than expected. Barclays, meanwhile, lifted its price target to $111 from $100 while keeping an Overweight rating, pointing to strong results and a solid outlook. Coverage of the picks tied investor interest to robust demand for data-communications gear built for artificial intelligence.

A Record Quarter Underpins the Bull Case

The business backdrop is a record third quarter for 2026. Amphenol booked revenue of $10.23 billion, up 65% year over year, with adjusted diluted earnings per share of $0.80 β€” a figure the company said represented a 74% increase. Orders were the standout: bookings reached $12.17 billion, 99% above the prior-year level.

Management guided fourth-quarter 2026 revenue to a range of $10.3 billion to $10.5 billion, with adjusted diluted EPS projected at $0.81 to $0.83. For the full year 2026, the company expects sales of $36.9 billion to $37.1 billion.

Capital Returns Get a Lift

Alongside the results, Amphenol announced on October 28 a 20% increase in its quarterly dividend to $0.15 per share. It also unveiled a new $4 billion share repurchase program, structured to run over three years and set to take effect in early 2027.

Investors will get another look at the story on November 12, when Amphenol is confirmed to present at Baird’s Global Industrial Conference 2026.
