Thyssenkrupp Enters Blackout Window With Hydrogen Roadmap Set and Duisburg Timeline Stretched

Thyssenkrupp’s leadership team has entered a closed period running through 8 December, the date the conglomerate has earmarked for publishing its 2025/2026 annual report. The quiet window, flagged in the company’s own financial calendar, covers board members and other staff with management responsibilities. The fiscal year under review in that report spans October through September.

LBBW Trims Target, Keeps Buy Rating

Landesbank Baden-Württemberg cut its price target on the stock on Wednesday from EUR 19 to EUR 18 while reaffirming its “Kaufen” — buy — recommendation, according to media reports. The shares closed Friday at EUR 11.86, leaving them well below even the reduced target.

Position disclosures added further colour. Goldman Sachs reported a lower aggregate holding on Thursday, down to 4.25% from 5.08%, a figure that bundles voting rights from shares with instruments. Morgan Stanley’s stake, disclosed on 30 October with a threshold-crossing date of 26 October, stood at 7.96% overall — 5.28% in share voting rights and 2.67% in instruments.

Duisburg Direct-Reduction Start Pushed to 2029

At Thyssenkrupp Steel Europe, the commissioning of the direct-reduction plant in Duisburg has slipped to 2029 from an original 2027 target, as reported on Friday. The company attributed the delay to the engineering phase in comments to dpa. The revised funding notice for the tkH2Steel project had previously become final and binding, and the group was preparing a fresh tender for long-term hydrogen supply, according to media reports.

Hydrogen strategy also featured at European level. On 27 October the European Resilience Alliance presented a roadmap for investment in an EU-wide clean hydrogen value chain, and Thyssenkrupp said it was among the companies that unveiled the plan. The initiative is designed to unlock investment along that chain.

On the labour front, IG Metall demanded a 5% pay increase on Monday for workers in the north-west German steel industry, a bargaining region that includes Thyssenkrupp Steel. At Thyssenkrupp Rasselstein, night-shift employees staged a temporary walkout on 1 November amid the metal and electrical wage dispute, with around 300 staff joining a protest outside the Andernach plant, according to media reports.

The 8 December date will bring not only the annual report but also a balance-sheet press conference and a call for analysts and investors.
