Xiaomi Stock Climbs With Hong Kong Tech as October EV Deliveries Hit Year’s Peak

Xiaomi shares advanced on Wednesday alongside a broad rebound in Hong Kong technology and internet names, a move that lifted the stock 3.1% to EUR 3.44. The rally followed the US midterm elections, which Reuters said had brightened market sentiment and fueled a technology-sector surge that counted Xiaomi among its winners.

The gain is best read as a mood swing rather than proof of an operational turnaround. China Daily traced the recovery in Hong Kong tech to the US midterm results as well as expectations of lower oil prices and US interest rates — tailwinds that reach well beyond Xiaomi’s own business. A friendlier market backdrop can support a valuation, but it does not answer the more important question of whether the company’s earnings prospects are actually improving. The broad lift argues against reading the session as investors confirming fresh strength in Xiaomi’s operations; as a verdict on profitability, it would need far more to back it up.

A Concrete Bright Spot in the Car Business

Against that backdrop, the automaking unit offered something tangible. On Sunday, Xiaomi Auto reported more than 50,000 electric vehicles delivered in October 2026 — the highest monthly figure of the year, according to Reuters. The company did not disclose an exact unit count. Reuters also reported that Xiaomi is expanding production capacity in order to meet its full-year target.

Unlike the general market sentiment, that is measurable operational progress, and it stands as the stronger company-specific argument. The release still describes sales volume, not earning power; a high delivery number alone does not translate into a corresponding profit contribution. That distinction matters for valuation — the vehicle news deserves attention but should not be treated as an all-clear for the group as a whole.

Xiaomi Pengcheng also unveiled a financing offer for available N70 vehicles on Sunday. Media reports said it includes three-year interest-free financing and applies to orders placed through November 30, and it explicitly covers vehicles already in stock.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Xiaomi?

Robotics Trials and a Date With the Board

Two robotics applications were reported on Tuesday. A humanoid robot completed an eight-hour work shift at a factory, while in a second application a robotic agent passed a long-duration test of more than 30 minutes in an employee apartment, spanning three rooms.

Investors will get a fuller read on the business on November 24, when Xiaomi’s next earnings report is due. The board is scheduled to meet that day to review and approve results for the third quarter of 2026.

Why Deliveries and the Stock Price Tell Different Stories

The profit outlook sets a clear counterweight to the cheerful market tone, and it explains why strong deliveries and a rising share price do not automatically add up to the same story about the business. Those are forecasts, not results that have already been reported.

The cautious takeaway: Xiaomi has delivered a positive operational signal with its vehicle shipments, but the day’s rally draws its immediate momentum from the market environment. A convincing re-rating would, in this view, also require earnings to carry their weight — which means the upcoming third-quarter results will be measured against a higher bar than good market sentiment alone.
