Quantum-Si’s stock staged a powerful rally on Tuesday, climbing 23% to $0.9800 as investors digested newly released interim performance data for the company’s next-generation Proteus platform. The advance extended a rebound that began after the shares closed at $0.7950 on Monday, with the stock building on a firm open throughout the session.
The catalyst came from results the biotech firm unveiled in connection with an international scientific conference. Quantum-Si published interim findings on Proteus ahead of a presentation at the World HUPO Congress 2026 in Singapore, where CEO Jeffrey Hawkins was scheduled to walk industry specialists through the data in detail on Tuesday.
Sharp Accuracy Gains in Control Study
In a control-peptide study, the Proteus system delivered a median of 30 times more alignments from a single chamber than the predecessor Platinum Pro platform. The median false-detection rate fell by a factor of 4.8, dropping to 1.36% from 6.58% with Platinum Pro. Testing with protein mixtures further showed the system identifying 1.6 to 2.0 times as many peptides.
Quantum-Si noted that the overall system and its components remain under active development and have not yet been fully optimized. The company reiterated that a commercial launch of Proteus is still targeted for the second quarter of 2027.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying QuantumSi?
The fresh figures add to a string of operational milestones. On September 15, Quantum-Si reported that a development-stage sequencing kit running on integrated Proteus instruments had demonstrated the detection of 18 amino acids. Management continues to aim for detection of all 20 amino acids at some point in 2026.
Insider Sales Were Mechanical, Not a Signal
Away from the technology story, management transactions drew attention last week. SEC filings show Hawkins sold 20,143 Class-A shares on September 21 at a weighted average price of $0.7558, followed by another 9,709 shares on September 22 at an average of $0.7608. Media reports characterized the disposals as mandatory sell-to-cover transactions, used solely to satisfy tax withholding obligations tied to the vesting of restricted stock units. With those filings now in the rearview mirror, the Proteus news has moved back to the forefront of trading.
The combination of the latest study results and Tuesday’s presentation to industry experts in Singapore has thrust the platform’s progress back into the market’s spotlight, giving investors fresh evidence of its technological potential at a time when higher hit accuracy paired with a lower error rate ranks among the sector’s most closely watched benchmarks.
