Sunstone Metals is advancing its portfolio of gold and copper assets in Ecuador, with a clear focus on delivering key project milestones. The company’s strategic efforts are building towards a pivotal scoping study for its flagship Bramaderos project, scheduled for completion in the June quarter of 2026. This study is anticipated to provide a crucial valuation benchmark for the market. These operational steps follow a consolidation of the company’s share structure finalized in March, a move designed to strengthen its financial flexibility.
Expanding the Resource Base
Central to Sunstone’s strategy is the systematic conversion of exploration targets into defined resources. At the El Palmar project, the focus is on expanding the existing resource of 1.2 million ounces of gold equivalent (AuEq). Geological targets located outside the current pit shell suggest considerable potential for growth. The company is methodically advancing these speculative targets through dedicated drilling programs.
Simultaneously, ongoing drill campaigns at the Porotillo and Copete prospects, within the broader Bramaderos land package, aim to further widen the resource base by the end of 2026. Initial trench sampling at these sites has already indicated significant gold and copper mineralization at surface.

A Consolidated Development Vision
The company is pursuing a large-scale, district-scale development model. The long-term vision for Bramaderos involves evolving it into a multi-pit mining complex. Beyond the current defined resource of 3.6 million ounces AuEq, geological estimates suggest the property could host an additional 5 to 13 million ounces of gold equivalent. A similar scale of upside potential is believed to exist at El Palmar, extending beyond currently defined boundaries.
The upcoming scoping study will specifically assess the economic viability of an initial development phase targeting the Brama-Alba and Melanol zones. Further drill results aimed at resource expansion at Porotillo and Copete are expected later this year, providing continued news flow.
