The Difference Between Non-Toxic Beauty and Clean Beauty

Everyone is taking steps to remain healthier and protect their bodies these days – and this is definitely a good thing! Between healthier foods, cleaning products, and even building materials, switching to healthier products and eliminating toxins from our environments is always beneficial. However, a lot of people might not think about is how the chemicals in our beauty products could be negatively affecting our health.

While you might think that the ingredients in our makeup aren’t a big deal.We aren’t ingesting it or anything – we are actually absorbing it into our skin (which is the body’s biggest organ). From our skin, it enters our bloodstream and so what’s in our makeup can definitely enter our body very quickly. That is why non-toxic and clean beauty is especially important in this new era of healthy living. Here is the difference between the two – non-toxic beauty and clean beauty:

Non-Toxic Beauty

While many people do use the two terms of “non-toxic” beauty and “clean beauty” interchangeably. They include a few key differences. Generally speaking, non-toxic makeup means that the ingredients in the product have been scientifically tested.They aren’t considered to be toxic to humans and will not cause any negative effects on our bodies as a result. Unfortunately, the beauty industry isn’t very well-regulated. There are many questionable chemicals and ingredients that are totally okay for companies to include in their products.

Health concerns

For example, in the United States, the FDA has only banned 11 potentially harmful chemicals.The cosmetics products while the European Union, in comparison, has banned more than 1,300. consistently reviewing ingredients and products to add to that list. You would think that since some of these ingredients have been linked to health concerns. They severe as cancer that they would be banned automatically. unfortunately, that isn’t the case.It is up to consumers in the United States to do their own research.Determine which products they feel comfortable. And know enough putting in and around their bodies and homes. 

Clean Beauty

Clean beauty dedicated to avoiding ingredients known to toxic, carcinogenic.Otherwise problematic to your skin and to your health. Some chemicals and ingredients that clean beauty avoids are things like parabens, sulfates, BHA, BHT, aluminum, and others. An important difference between something can be problematic without being toxic – and clean beauty.Those ingredients while non-toxic beauty does not. Another important term that we hear a lot along with these two is “natural beauty.” Natural beauty has more differences than clean and non-toxic beauty. Natural beauty only includes natural ingredients whereas clean beauty can contain synthetic ingredients that are still safe. It’s important to remember that synthetic ingredients aren’t always bad for you just like natural ingredients aren’t always good for you. 

Be Careful

There is a lot of information about both clean beauty and non-toxic beauty. The one really important thing to remember is that there is no clear legal definition of either of these terms. The cosmetic companies can basically use them at will. Just product claims to be clean or non-toxic does not mean. just means that it fits that company’s definition of being clean. Companies are increasingly putting these misleading phrases on their products. The people become more concerned about the ingredients in their makeup. However, in order to make sure that something is really clean or non-toxic. And you need to take a good hard look at the ingredients list to make sure for yourself. It is worth putting in your body.
